According to Oxford Languages, the definition of a heretic is "a person believing in or practicing religious heresy" or "a person holding an opinion at odds with what is generally accepted." They give this example, "the Vatican branded Galileo a heretic for saying the Earth revolved around the sun."

So, by that definition, I am a heretic too, and I'm OK with that because the Scriptures agree with me.

We currently live in a “famine” bringing uncertainty, insecurity, and unrest. We live in a seemingly desolate land filled with tribulation. Things look pretty bad for us here in the valley of the shadow of death.

Sometimes what it says may be unclear. Sometimes what it says is different from what we initially think it says. To figure that out, we examine a particular text using a few rules to help us avoid reading our own ideas into it.

Deception seems to be everywhere. Escaping it requires wisdom and knowledge. Jesus offers both.

Which will you believe?

Father counsels us to fill our minds with good input. It is not necessary for us to give place to worldly rumors, conspiracies, and predictions. We can choose to fill our minds with what is good and godly. We can scroll past negativity. We can unsubscribe from sources of ill feelings. We can cancel our appointments with serial purveyors of doom and gloom. The Kingdom, we are told in Romans 14:17, is “righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.”
