Believe & Receive

Imagine that you are in a court of law.
Judgment has been rendered.
You have been found guilty.
The sentence is death.
You are placed on death row.

One day you’re told Someone you’ve never met before has spoken to the Judge.

You’re handed a transcript that records what He said.
“I stand for this one.”
“This one’s crimes are Mine.”
“I will serve the sentence.”
“You can let this one go free.”

The judge tells you that the Man has been executed.
He says, “It is finished.”
He says that since your sentence has been served you are free to go.

You stand there dumbstruck.
How do you respond to this?

This is the question that must be answered by everyone.

Will you remain in your cell on death row in disbelief?
Will you remain captive until your death?

OR

Will you believe the Judge about what this Man has done?
Will you receive your freedom and walk out of prison forever?

“For if by the offense of the one [Adam], death reigned through the one [Adam], much more will those who receive the abundance of grace [by believing in Him] and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. So then, as through one offense the result was condemnation to all mankind, so also through one act of righteousness the result was justification of life to all mankind.” (Romans 5:17-18 NASB 2020)

“He made Him who knew no sin to be sin in our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21, NASB 2020)

Forgiveness and freedom are available to all who will receive them.
