Freedom of Choice

Everyone Has a Choice

If you had no choice, love for God would be impossible.

You would be a slave, a puppet, an automaton, doing the will of a domineering puppet master. For there to be a choice, there must be at least two options.

When the first man made his choice, sin entered the world. “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all mankind, because all sinned—” (Romans 5:12, NASB 2020)

Like every person ever, you once personally chose to go your own way.

You once chose to believe that what seemed like
the shiniest thing,
the tastiest thing,
the thing that felt best
was what you would consider right and good.

You once chose these things even though you knew in your heart that these things were not loving toward others and were not even what was best for you.

That's who you WERE before you believed God.

When you believed, a change happened in you.

You became
righteous,
holy,
pure,
spotless, and
blameless.

You got that way by receiving God's wonderful and gracious gift.
His Life in your new spirit, and His Spirit in you.
