The Dynamo Energizing Us
Two Greek words are used in scripture that give us an interesting insight into the way Holy Spirit works within us. They are (dunamis) and (energeo). As you can probably see, we get from these our English words dynamo and energize.
I think of this like the power lines coming to my house. The root of their power is a dynamo (hydro, nuclear, coal, a windmill) a turbine.
The power that turbine generates energizes the lines (the wires coming to my house) all the way to the outlets of my home.
The energy just sits there. Nothing happens unless there is a light or an appliance or tool or something connected and working.
Similarly, Holy Spirit is the dynamo energizing us. When we are connected to Him that energy is in us.
We do not work to get this power. We merely allow it to flow by flipping the switch as it were from off (living in fleshly ways that quench His guidance) to on (living in dependence on Him by faith).
When we are switched on listening, allowing, yielding to Him, great things happen in and through us.
