One Baptism

Baptized into Christ

You have been baptized into Christ. That means you have been immersed in Him. The new creation you became by being raised in Him means that you are completely under the grace of God and His finished work.

It’s your current state of being. Ephesians 4:4-6 tells us

"There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all." (Ephesians 4:4-6 NIV)

No second work of grace, no second blessing, no second baptism in, of, or by the Spirit. You were baptized into Christ when you first believed. Immersed into Him.

Water baptism is a picture of this. It’s designed to show us by physical demonstration something accomplished in the spiritual realm.

Believe that these things are true of you. Believe it because God, who is completely trustworthy and who cannot lie, says that they are true.
