Hidden with Christ

Colossians 3:3 states, “For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” (NASB 2020)

The Greek word translated “hidden” is krypto. You might recognize the sound of that. We have crypto-currency, cryptography, encryption, etc.

Its meaning is straightforward. It means “safely kept.” You might picture your (eternal) Life being kept in a safe or vault in God right along with Jesus, who IS God.

“In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of the promise,” (Ephesians 1:13 NASB20)

You are safely sealed in God right along with our lovely Lord Jesus. You are hidden, even encrypted, there with Him and the Holy Spirit who lives in you is your guarantee. He is the seal authenticating the veracity of the promise of your safety.
