That Unsettled Feeling
Many of us have found ourselves feeling oddly unsettled or uncomfortable after expressing ungodly attitudes or falling to temptation of our particular flavor of habitual sin.
A couple of years ago someone asked me, “Could that be Christ in me letting me know that's not me and I need to stop?”
That unsettled feeling is definitely Holy Spirit. I bet you’ve noticed Him speaking to you in a way not unlike intuition. That strangely unsettled feeling over a poor choice, or joyful peace over a good one. I sure have.
It’s His way of helping us to see that such things just aren't us anymore.
He's very gentle about it though, isn't He?
No condemnation, just discomfort.
Like being a little hungry for something better.
That old habit, those kneejerk fleshly responses, those unloving attitudes are beginning to fade from our lives. That’s because we're beginning to see that they don't give us fulfillment and they no longer fit us.
It's such a blessing to see how He is working to complete the good work He has begun in us.
