Slave to Sin

We used to be slaves of sin.

We didn't have much of a choice, we were predisposed to it, born into it. Sin was in our blood.

BUT GOD

God made us free from the power of sin. He freed us from that slavery. He removed the shackles and opened the prison door.

Now we obey God, but we don't do it because we must, out of compulsion, fear, or guilt.

We obey from the heart.

We do it because it's what we really want deep inside.

We do it because it's the only thing that really satisfies us.

Now, you might say that we are slaves of righteousness.

Sounds good to me.

That's the way of grace. He gives us the true desires of our heart.
