Evil Spirits

Evil Spirits

Saints,

Now that we have placed our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, no evil spirits have any place in our lives. There is only one Spirit for us, and He lives in us.

The enemy can insert thoughts into our minds using old pathways of thinking we have habituated over long periods of time. Consequently, we are prone to returning to them in difficult times and in moments of weakness such as illness, tiredness, and so on. In an attempt to influence our thinking further, he can also affect events in the world, and he can influence the people in our orbit who are not in Christ.

We are wise to his schemes. He roams around trying to get us to doubt, to fear, to feel shame, because he knows, that to the extent he is successful, we will be less effective as bearers of the Truth, the Light, the Life of the Lord Jesus Christ.

But this is what Jesus did: "When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him." Colossians 2:15 (NASB 2020)

1 John 5:18 tells us, "We know that no one who has been born of God sins (continually); but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him." (NASB 2020 – parenthesized text mine to reflect the Greek tense here)

Jesus won the war and disarmed our enemy.
That old snake and his minions can’t touch us anymore.
Sounds to me like all those evil spirits can do is lie to us.

Truth is their kryptonite!
