Being Born Again

Being Born Again

We talk about being born again, but it's easy to see that phrase as just a "Christianese" way of saying we're saved and going to heaven.

It's much more than that. Being born again is being born of the Spirit of God.

When that happens, the change is profound.

In 1 John 3:9, the Apostle John says that We who are born of God have God's seed in us.

I love that when John says we have the seed of God in us, he uses the Greek word "sperma".

That word choice ensures that there is no misunderstanding of his meaning.

Speaking of God's sperma illustrates perfectly the depth of the change. We cease being children of Adam, and become children of God.

By the way, "Adam" means "man". We change from being purely fleshly to being spiritual.

Jesus said that what is born of flesh is flesh and what is born of spirit is spirit.

You are profoundly not who you were. Live from that.
