You are Free

When God set the Israelites free from Egypt, they were glad and filled with joy.

This is probably how you felt when you believed Him and He set you free.

Not long after this, they came to an impassable sea. It looked like their journey might be over, but God made a way through it.

It can seem to us that we face insurmountable struggles on our way to the land of promise, but God has given us a Way.

They were amazed by the unexpected blessing, but the enemy caught up with them as they were taking the straight path God had provided.

Even after we are in Jesus (on the straight and narrow path God provided) we may see our enemy in the rearview mirror and worry that he is closer than he appears.

They were scared as they hurried to get to the other side. The enemy's chariots and powerful army were very intimidating.

Our enemy roams around like a roaring lion and he intimidates us through lies and misdirection.

The moment they reached the other side of the sea bed, God completely overwhelmed their enemy. Not one Egyptian survived.

Jesus has defeated our enemy. He cannot touch us. The enemy has been declawed and defanged. All he can do is shout lies, but truth is his kryptonite.

The people of God were safe and free.

John 8:36 “So if the Son sets you free, you really will be free.” (NASB 2020)

Galatians 5:1 “It was for freedom that Christ set us free”. (NASB 2020)

In just this way, Jesus set you free, child of God. He triumphed over your enemy, the accuser to whom you once were enslaved.

You are safe and free.
