Mindset

Growth is fostered when we set our minds on things above. (A) When our minds are on Christ and we look at Him as we live in this temporal terrarium, we come to know Him better. This renewal of our minds, training them to the truth (B), results in transformation (C), growth, and ever-increasing trust. (D)

A) Colossians 3:1–3 “Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.” (NLT)

B) 1 Timothy 4:7–8 “Do not waste time arguing over godless ideas and old wives’ tales. Instead, train yourself to be godly. Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.” (NLT)

C) Romans 12:2 “Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.” (CSB—Christian Standard Bible, Holman)

D) 2 Peter 3:17–18a “You already know these things, dear friends. So be on guard; then you will not be carried away by the errors of these wicked people and lose your own secure footing. Rather, you must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” (NLT)
