Eternal Life is Eternal

Eternal Life is Eternal

We are the family of God. We're His children. He's our Father.

Paul talks about this very briefly in Ephesians 3:14-15. He says that the whole family in heaven and on earth is named of Jesus.

Interestingly, Paul purposely mentioned those who are in heaven. This cannot be referring to angels or "heavenly beings." They are not included in the family. Jesus did not die for them.

This is talking about those who have passed through the veil before us. We can find great comfort in this. It reminds us that our brothers and sisters remain alive in the truest sense.

There's a similarly comforting passage in Job. Right at the end of the last chapter.

God restores to Job double of everything he had. Twice the number of camels, donkeys, and so on. Then He gets seven sons and three daughters.

That’s not double! It's the same as he had before! Why? Because the others are alive and well and living in heaven.
