How We Live to God

How We Live to God

Romans 6:11 “So you too, consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.” (NASB 2020)

Galatians 2:19 “For through the Law I died to the Law, so that I might live for God. (NASB 2020)”

Before we were saved, we lived to sin. Sinfulness (unbelief) and self-righteousness characterized our lives.

Now we are dead to sin and alive to God. Now faith (belief) and godliness (His righteousness) characterize our lives.

All of this is from Jesus Christ. It is not our effort that made us righteous, and it is not our effort that brings our attitudes and actions into line with God's desires. As we acquiesce to His leading and depend on Him as the source of all good that may come from our lives, we are living to God. Living to God then, is walking by faith and not by sight.

Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.” (NASB 2020)
